There is a shortage of Canadians who are available to work as live-in caregivers. In order to keep up with such demand a live-in Caregiver Program was developed to bring qualified foreign individuals who are available to work on a live-in basis. Every one of the caregivers and nannies in our database qualifies for the Live-in program in Canada to the best or our knowledge.

Please note that while caregivers from the Philippines are in great demand for their natural nurturing and care giving skills, it takes much longer to get them to Canada than caregivers from other countries if they are living in the Philippines . If you plan on hiring a caregiver from the Philippines , please give yourself sufficient time. It is not unheard of to wait up to three years for the visa office in Manila to process an application for a work permit. You may find Filipino caregivers living in other countries - that could solve the problem of long waiting times. This also applies to caregivers from Punjab , India . The processing times have increased to 2 years and they will most likely increase in the months to come.

Because the conditions of the live-in caregiver program require a minimum one year contract for the caregiver to be able to come to Canada , you should consider hiring a temporary caregiver for one year and start processing of your Filipino caregiver as soon as the temporary caregiver arrives. This way you will not have to experience the stress and anxiety of a long wait.

Your temporary caregiver would be aware of the contract limitation and would have sufficient time to look for other employment to continue her work under the program. Talk to us about the implications and how to do it - we are here to help. Call us or send us e-mail.

GUARANTEE

We guarantee our placements for a period of three months. We take pride in our successful placements. However, should you need an immediate replacement within the guarantee period, we will certainly attend to your needs and resume the search immediately. This guarantee covers one replacement search within a period of 12 months.

In many cases our clients consider hiring a caregiver from outside of Canada as there is a short supply and availability of live-in caregivers locally. Should you need an immediate replacement of a caregiver you hired from overseas, you may be required to offer a higher salary to attract a local applicant.

In some cases, the duties may require different or special skills and, therefore, caregivers with these qualities may not be readily available locally. Should this happen, we will provide replacement applicants from outside of Canada and processing times may run similar to the original replacement.
